Experience
Parasitology: Conducted thorough examination of fish for protozoan parasites and myxosporeans using light and electron microscopy.
Bioinformatics: Performed large number of phylogenetic reconstructions, molecular clock analysis, topology testing, etc. Successfully assembled and annotated genomes and transcriptomes of myxozoans and performed metabarcoding eDNA analysis.
Molecular parasitology: DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, cloning, sequencing, in-situ hybridisation, southern blotting.

Ivan Fiala is the author and co-author of 69 scientific papers that have been cited 1863 times, his h-index is 23. He published an article on the phylogeny of Myxozoa in the International Journal for Parasitology in 2006, which has been cited more than 400 times.
